The Tools Behind T28X Publishing

Running an independent publishing house requires systems. Here’s a look at the tools we use to keep T28X operating smoothly — and why we chose them.

Website & Hosting: Kinsta

We’ve written about Kinsta before. Fast WordPress hosting matters when you’re running multiple sites and need reliability. Kinsta delivers.

Email Marketing: MailerLite

Our reader newsletters, author updates, and ARC program invitations all run through MailerLite. Clean interface, solid deliverability, reasonable pricing.

Transactional Email: MailerSend

Order confirmations, password resets, form submissions — the operational emails that need to arrive instantly. MailerSend handles those.

Book Production:

  • Formatting: Vellum (Mac) for print and ebook interiors
  • Cover Design: Custom designs, sometimes using 99designs or Reedsy freelancers
  • ISBNs: Bowker (myidentifiers.com)
  • Print Distribution: Amazon KDP (paperback/hardcover) + IngramSpark (expanded distribution)
  • Ebook Distribution: Amazon KDP + Draft2Digital

Project Management:

  • Google Workspace for docs and collaboration
  • Notion for editorial calendars and title tracking

Why This Matters:

We share our tools because transparency builds trust. These aren’t sponsored recommendations — they’re what we actually use, every day, to publish real books.

If you’re building your own publishing operation, this stack is a solid starting point.
